The line between painting and drawing is often blurred. I use the brush to add oil and acrylic paint to my canvases with a variety of strokes while simultaneously rendering them as a type of drawing. I employ choppy brushstrokes, fashioning them into colorful circular forms and patterns that evoke the abstract paintings of Alma Thomas, known for her evocative circles and lines.
